Something Blue, Old, Borrowed And New For Your Bridal Accessories
When you are planning for your bridal accessories, you don’t want to forget about something blue, something old and something new. Although this is a tradition that has been in existence for centuries, many brides today neglect the tradition. Even if you’ve a themed wedding or a casual wedding, you would still like to have these three things in your procession. For something old, a few brids have a thing that is handed down from relative to family member such as family heirloom or just a thing that has sentimental value. Some brides will where something from there moms or grandmothers.
Something old may be the wedding ceremony dress, handkerchief, necklace or other jewelry or some object. Bridal accessories also include something new. For something new, you have your wedding dress, your shoes, your headpiece or anything else you might have brought. This is actually the easiest bridal accessories since you need these things anyways. For something blue, you could choose a garter. If blue does not match your wedding color theme, the garter is always a great way to have something blue. If you color theme includes the color blue, then you will already have your color.
Something borrowed for your wedding can be open to anything as long as it matches with your color arrangement. You could borrow a necklace, bracelet, earrings or even a wedding ceremony veil from a family member. You may even borrow something such as a little trinket that you are able to go with your bridal bouquet without taking clear of the bouquet itself. A few brids also borrow a ring or a wedding band from their mums to wear alternatively as something borrowed. These old traditions are still strong when marriage ceremonies happen more so than any other wedding tradition.
The meaning behind something old is that you are uniting in marriage and abandoning the old. You are making a fresh new life with the man you like and will share eternity. Something new is that your union will start a brand new life and new adventures. Something borrowed symbolizes someone or something that you respect or admire. Something blue then represents nothing. It was said that having something blue came because it rhymed with something new. The saying and tradition stills stands although it has no symbolic meaning when you are obtaining married. As you should be able to see, apart from something blue, everything means or symbolizes something on you wedding.
Other bridal accessories are also needed like the jewelry, make up, wedding favors, cake knifes and invitations and give thanks cards. You always want to have everything you need far early to ensure there are no eleventh hour surprises. You are going to have sufficient to worry about and consider the week for the special occasion without worrying about if you’ve everything you need. The day of you wedding, you will have all your bridal accessories including something new, old, borrowed and blue to take with to the area where you will be getting ready.
