Mexican Cooking: A Combination Of Different Cultures A Combinition Of Various Traditions Is Mexican Cuisine
Food from Mexico has captured the interest of diners and cooks around the world in recent years. The story behind this increasingly popular cuisine is one of encounters between different cultures leading to a succulent food culture.
The best selling novel, “Like Water for Chocolate,” introduced people around the world to the vital role which food plays in The Mexican culture. In fact, native food has played like a significant role in Mexico’s history which even now, many farmers describe themselves like “el hombre del maiz,” or “man of corn.” Corn was one of the dishes on that the Mexicans’ indigenous ancestors, like Mayans, Aztecs, and also Toltecs, dependent their cooking. Peanuts, beans avocados, tomatoes, squash and coconuts, together with that “food of the gods,” chocolate, were traded among the indigenous individuals for hundreds of years.

The word “barbecue” is often supposed to be an Anglicized term for Mexican “barbacoa,” or meat roasted slowly over a spit. Tex-Mex differences on Mexican foods are sometimes loaded with beef, pinto beans and also heavy, highly spiced red sauces.
Like Tex-Mex, these days within Mexico itself there are local differences of familiar foods. Sonoran Mexican food, for example, reflects the lighter influences of the Pacific shoreline and vegetables from California’s farming country.
